1. New mixer with a BITE

Fresh out of the shop: Just finished a special request for an N50 5-quart Hobart mixer.

She may be smaller, but man she’s got a BITE. A blog reader saw my A200 shark/bomber theme from few months ago, and he said he dug it so much, he had to have the same thing done to his N50.

I started out with the matte olive base coat, cut the eyes out of masking paper and airbrushed with AutoAir, then got chromes for the smaller letters. Masking the teeth took a while, but was wayyyy worth it. Dude will get to look at that menacing face every time he mixes his batter.

I got all the graphics just right, then I took out the sandpaper and roughed it up - got a nice beat-up look as if it flew with the Flying Tigers from WW2. I topped it off with a satin clearcoat to seal it all up and now she’s ready to fly.

I’m pretty pumped with how it turned out, especially the little details like the muffin bombs on the side, danger label by the gear switch, and the arms painted out to look like propellers. I’m sending it over tonight - hopefully my buddy will dig it as much as I do.
