I took a break from posting for a while, and have been busy working on several mixer paint jobs. This is one of my favorites. My friend Tom visited a few weeks ago. When I told him I was planning to paint out some of the older mixers at my parents’ place, he asked for one.
The guy is a great chef and a total airplane buff, so I made him this old school bomber-style mixer. I used an overall matte olive green base, and made the legs into propellers, gloss black with yellow tips.The best part was when that name popped into my head: Dinner Belle. She really pulls it all together. I finished it off with a stenciled “Come and Get It” down the side. Gave it a hit of matte clear to hold it all in place. Just took a quick photo before I gave it to him.
Tom says he totally digs it. He’s even moved a few things around in his diner so people at one end of the counter can see it back in the kitchen. Apparently they dig it too. It was a great project. I’ve got a couple more done, but no time to post them today. Will show the other ones soon.
